TO THE CHIEF MUSICIAN,<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n A PSALM<\/strong><\/p>\n or SONG<\/strong><\/p>\n OF DAVID.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n LET GOD ARISE,<\/strong><\/p>\n LET HIS ENEMIES BE SCATTERED:<\/strong><\/p>\n LET THEM ALSO THAT HATE HIM<\/strong><\/p>\n FLEE BEFORE HIM.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n As smoke is driven away,<\/p>\n so drive them away:<\/p>\n as wax melteth before the fire,<\/p>\n so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n But let the righteous be glad;<\/p>\n let them rejoice before God:<\/p>\n yea,<\/p>\n let them exceedingly rejoice.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Sing unto God,<\/p>\n sing praises to his name:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n extol him that rideth upon the heavens<\/p>\n by his name JAH,<\/p>\n and rejoice before him.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n A father of the fatherless,<\/p>\n and a judge of the widows,<\/p>\n is God in his holy habitation.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n God setteth the solitary in families:<\/p>\n he bringeth out those which are bound with chains:<\/p>\n but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n O God,<\/p>\n when thou wentest forth before thy people,<\/p>\n when thou didst march through the wilderness;<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Selah:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The earth shook,<\/p>\n the heavens also dropped<\/p>\n at the presence of God:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n even Sinai itself was moved<\/p>\n at the presence of God,<\/p>\n the God of Israel.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Thou,<\/p>\n O God,<\/p>\n didst send a plentiful rain,<\/p>\n whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance,<\/p>\n when it was weary.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Thy congregation hath dwelt therein:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Thou,<\/p>\n O God,<\/p>\n hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Lord gave the word:<\/p>\n great was the company of those that published it.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Kings of armies did flee apace:<\/p>\n and she that tarried at home divided the spoil.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Though ye have lien among the pots,<\/p>\n yet shall ye be as the wings of a dove<\/p>\n covered with silver,<\/p>\n and her feathers with yellow gold.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n When the Almighty scattered kings in it,<\/p>\n it was white as snow in Salmon.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The hill of God is as the hill of Bashan;<\/p>\n an high hill as the hill of Bashan.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Why leap ye,<\/p>\n ye high hills?<\/p>\n <\/p>\n this is the hill which God desireth to dwell in;<\/p>\n yea,<\/p>\n the LORD will dwell in it<\/p>\n for ever.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The chariots of God are twenty thousand,<\/p>\n even thousands of angels:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n the Lord is among them,<\/p>\n as in Sinai,<\/p>\n in the holy place.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Thou hast ascended on high,<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n thou hast led captivity captive:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n thou hast received gifts for men;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n yea,<\/p>\n for the rebellious also,<\/p>\n that the LORD God might dwell among them.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Blessed be the Lord,<\/p>\n who daily loadeth us with benefits,<\/p>\n even the God of our salvation.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Selah.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n He that is our God is the God of salvation;<\/p>\n and unto GOD the Lord<\/p>\n belong the issues from death.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n But God shall wound the head of his enemies,<\/p>\n and the hairy scalp of such an one<\/p>\n as goeth on still in his trespasses.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Lord said,<\/p>\n I will bring again from Bashan,<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I will bring my people again<\/p>\n from the depths of the sea:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n That thy foot may be dipped<\/p>\n in the blood of thine enemies,<\/p>\n and the tongue of thy dogs in the same.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n They have seen thy goings,<\/p>\n O God;<\/p>\n even the goings of my God,<\/p>\n my King,<\/p>\n in the sanctuary.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The singers went before,<\/p>\n the players on instruments followed after;<\/p>\n among them were the damsels<\/p>\n playing with timbrels.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Bless ye God in the congregations,<\/p>\n even the Lord,<\/p>\n from the fountain of Israel.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n There is little Benjamin<\/p>\n with their ruler,<\/p>\n the princes of Judah<\/p>\n and their council,<\/p>\n the princes of Zebulun,<\/p>\n and the princes of Naphtali.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Thy God hath commanded thy strength:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n strengthen,<\/p>\n O God,<\/p>\n that which thou hast wrought for us.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Because of thy temple at Jerusalem<\/p>\n shall kings bring presents unto thee.<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Rebuke the company of spearmen,<\/p>\n the multitude of the bulls,<\/p>\n with the calves of the people,<\/p>\n till every one submit himself with pieces of silver:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n scatter thou the people that delight in war.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Princes shall come out of Egypt;<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Sing unto God,<\/p>\n ye kingdoms of the earth;<\/p>\n O sing praises unto the Lord;<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Selah:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n To him that rideth upon the heavens of heavens,<\/p>\n which were of old;<\/p>\n lo,<\/p>\n he doth send out his voice,<\/p>\n and that a mighty voice.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ascribe ye strength unto God:<\/p>\n his excellency is over Israel,<\/p>\n and his strength is in the clouds.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n O God,<\/p>\n thou art terrible out of thy holy places:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n the God of Israel<\/p>\n is he that giveth strength and power unto his people.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Blessed be
