TO THE CHIEF MUSICIAN,<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n A PSALM<\/strong><\/p>\n FOR THE SONS OF KORAH.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n HEAR THIS,<\/strong><\/p>\n ALL YE PEOPLE;<\/strong><\/p>\n GIVE EAR,<\/strong><\/p>\n ALL YE INHABITANTS OF THE WORLD:<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Both low<\/p>\n and high,<\/p>\n rich<\/p>\n and poor,<\/p>\n together.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n My mouth shall speak of wisdom;<\/p>\n and the meditation of my heart<\/p>\n shall be of understanding.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I will incline mine ear to a parable:<\/p>\n I will open my dark saying upon the harp.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil,<\/p>\n when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?<\/p>\n <\/p>\n They that trust in their wealth,<\/p>\n and boast themselves<\/p>\n in the multitude of their riches;<\/p>\n None of them can by any means redeem his brother,<\/p>\n nor give to God a ransom for him:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n For the redemption of their soul is precious,<\/p>\n and it ceaseth for ever:<\/p>\n That he should still live for ever,<\/p>\n and not see corruption.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n For he seeth that wise men die,<\/p>\n likewise the fool<\/p>\n and the brutish person<\/p>\n perish,<\/p>\n and leave their wealth to others.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Their inward thought is,<\/p>\n that their houses shall continue for ever,<\/p>\n and their dwelling places to all generations;<\/p>\n they call their lands after their own names.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not:<\/p>\n he is like the beasts that perish.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This their way is their folly:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n yet their posterity approve their sayings.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Selah.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Like sheep they are laid in the grave;<\/p>\n <\/p>\n death shall feed on them;<\/p>\n <\/p>\n and the upright shall have dominion over them<\/p>\n in the morning;<\/p>\n <\/p>\n and their beauty shall consume<\/p>\n in the grave<\/p>\n from their dwelling.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n But God will redeem my soul<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n from the power of the grave:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n for he shall receive me.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Selah.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Be not thou afraid when one is made rich,<\/p>\n when the glory of his house is increased;<\/p>\n <\/p>\n For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away:<\/p>\n his glory shall not descend after him.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Though while he lived he blessed his soul:<\/p>\n and men will praise thee,<\/p>\n when thou doest well to thyself.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n He shall go to the generation of his fathers;<\/p>\n <\/p>\n they shall never see light.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Man that is in honour,<\/p>\n and understandeth not,<\/p>\n is like the beasts that perish.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n next<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n prev<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" TO THE CHIEF MUSICIAN, A PSALM FOR THE SONS OF KORAH.
